Today we had a lazy day to recover from our day of castles, stairs and mountain climbing. I tried to be as lazy as possible, with brief interruptions from my husband, which usually coincided with mealtimes, I have since noticed...
We had a late breakfast, a snoozle, and then ventured out into the big bold world for some lunch. And guess what we found in Prague, one of the world's centres of history and architecture?! Kentucky Fried Chicken! After weeks of food requiring translation, I thought this was fantastic and definitely what the doctor ordered!
After our KFC meal, we walked across the road to check out this gorgeous gothic cathedral (the name of which escapes us right now):
I even felt perky enough to strike a pose!
It was very beautiful to look at...
And we were sure there would be more impressive windows and stained glass inside...
... but once we were inside, we discovered there was actually a church service going on!! Not to mention, signs stating that no photography was allowed (as is so often the case in this section of Europe, we have found...)
Of course, we ignored this rule and this last photo was taken through a window while the choir sang their hearts out in protest... I was actually surprised that no Camera Nazi came running out asking for 50 Czech Crowns to cover the photo surcharge...
After our brief sojourn we returned to our hotel - which, thankfully, was downhill with no steps...
