The last 2 days in Izmir were spent relaxing in our new hotel. We bought some DVD's from a shop along the way, and lazed around in bed.
Jason went on the occasional errand to find some kebabs and drinks, and we enjoyed our much earned rest.
We flew out to Istanbul this morning and were met by Chingis our cheery transfer driver. He took us through the choking Istanbul traffic to our hotel, where, despite having confirmed our booking three times with our agent, they did not have our reservation.
Chingis went above and beyond the call of duty and after about 2 hours of intense negotiating, they eventually gave us a small basic room. The Grand Oztinak hotel was very basic, though liveable.
We took the opportunity to book a couple of tours while we were in Instanbul, for our return from the Gallipoli tour. The first is a city tour, and the last is a traditional Turkish dinner. Lot's to fit into one day, but I'm sure it will be great fun.
